Professor Elisabeth Cardis (head of the Radiation Programme at the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology -CREAL) and her collaborators have been awarded an Honorable Mention in NIOSH’s (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) Annual Alice Hamilton Awards for Excellence in Occupational Safety and Health.
An ISGlobal study, the largest to date on this topic, analysed the behaviour of almost 84,000 mother and child pairs. Pregnant women whose cell phone use is classified as medium or high are more likely to have a child with behavioural problems, particularly hyperactivity and inattention. This was the conclusion of a new study coordinated by ISGlobal, a centre supported by the ”la Caixa” Foundation.
